Dyke Marsh US-9961

Third day in a row activating Dyke Marsh. It’s about a 15 minute drive from my home, has several spots to activate a 5-fer from the car or a 7-fer from a picnic table, nice views of the Potomac, great birds, people watching along the Mount Vernon trail, and lastly but importantly – a convenient restroom 🙂

No eagles today. But I’m getting faster with setup and teardown of the equipment. I did some reading last night about hamsticks and possible vehicle mounts on the Bronco. I don’t expect that to perform anywhere near as well as my other antennas, but it sounds convenient for quick activations, especially on digital modes where you can get away with less signal.
